Although there has only been one, GenAF H.H. ("Hap") Arnold, the rank and the flag are still valid. See www.af.mil/library/biographies for a biography of Gen Arnold. The reference to GenAF is in the first paragraph. I am puzzled where this omission started because it seems to be propagating through the literature.

Except for the field color (ultramarine blue) USAF general officers' rank flags are of the same design and dimensions as U.S. Army general officers' rank flags.
